The ROCK students celebrated Neighboring Week by Showing Gratitude
During Neighboring Week, from September 28-October 4, ROCK students at Jefferson, Northeast, and Meridian middle schools found a meaningful way to say “thank you” to the adults who support them at school every day. With creativity and kindness, they honored their teachers and custodial staff through simple gestures that carried a powerful message of appreciation.

Stickers and Sweet Treats for Teachers and Staff
The teacher’s lounges were decorated with homemade stickers, thank-you notes, and some sweet treats from The ROCK. A note invited teachers to “enjoy a cookie and take home a homemade sticker – crafted with care by students. Think of it as a neighborly wave over the fence: a simple reminder that together, we are building something wonderful for our young people. Thank you for being such an important part of this neighborhood of support and success.”

ROCK students also recognized the custodial staff with treat baskets, thanking them for their tireless work behind the scenes to keep schools safe, clean, and welcoming.

Building Community at The ROCK
This initiative was a perfect example of how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. By participating in Neighboring Week, students not only expressed gratitude but also demonstrated the values of community and connection that lie at the heart of The ROCK and the Midland community.
The ROCK is proud to support Midland Neighboring Week, a weeklong, citywide celebration dedicated to promoting community wellbeing and belonging in Midland. To learn more about neighboring, visit www.midlandfoundation.org/neighboringweek.
