Driving Change for Local Teens
We’re thrilled to share some exciting news! On Wednesday, November 19, The ROCK Center for Youth Development was honored to receive a $6,060 grant from Eagles for Children and Midland Country Club. This grant enables The ROCK to continue providing enriching afterschool and summer programs for teens right here in Midland County, and making a hole-in-one for local youth.
The grant was awarded at the Eagles for Children Awards Ceremony, where more than 50 nonprofit organizations from across Michigan were recognized for their work with youth. Representing The ROCK were Tara Welch, President and CEO, and Amanda Valente-Confer, Engagement Specialist, who were proud to stand among so many organizations making a difference. We were honored to be recognized alongside Kathryn Tate and the Legacy Center for Community Success for our work in Midland County.

Eagles for Children and Local Clubs are Teeing Up Impact
Eagles for Children combines a love of golf with a passion for giving back. Partnering with private golf clubs, they raise funds for charities that support children facing adversity in our communities, working with 24 country clubs across Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, and North Carolina. In 2025, participating clubs raised over $1.7 million for 189 charities serving youth across the country. Over its 14 year history, Eagles for Children has provided more than $9.2 million in donations to organizations serving youth.
In its second year with the program, Midland Country Club raised over $12,000 to benefit local youth. We are grateful for the generosity of members toward helping local youth thrive!
